Kirk Douglas, father of Michael Douglas, was the presenter of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Douglas was the life of the party, flirting with co-presenter Anne Hathaway and making other various jokes.

At the age of 94, he still has it in him.  Douglas prolonged the winner of the award to fire off more comedic commentary which had the audience rolling in laughter.

Kirk Douglas made Hugh Jackman laugh and even commented why Colin Firth was not laughing.

Colin Firth then eventually laughed.  After several minutes of comic relief, the winner was announced.  Douglas revealed it was The Fighter’s Melissa Leo who had won for Best Supporting Actress.

This is her first big win after being nominated for Best Actress in Frozen River two years ago.  Kirk Douglas led the way for more comedic announcements at the Oscars.
